291 // The Inside Story of Alien: Earth, From the People Who Made It
Patrick and Jaime speak with Noah Hawley
One of the great thrills of covering Alien: Earth's release was getting to speak with so many people involved with the show. We aired many of these interviews throughout the season as part of our aftershow, but we had to leave almost two hours' worth on the cutting room floor for the sake of brevity.
Presented here, for the first time as a single, cohesive audio documentary, are interviews with twenty-one of the key creatives who brought Alien: Earth to life. In approximate order of appearance, you'll hear:
Jeff Russo (Composer)
Maggie Phillips (Music Supervisor)
David Rysdahl ("Arthur")
Babou Ceesay ("Morrow")
Richa Moorjani ("Zaveri")
Sandra Yi Sencindiver ("Yutani")
Kit Young ("Tootles")
Ugla Hauksdóttir (Director of Episodes 4 and 6)
Samuel Blenkin ("Boy Kavalier")
Alex Lawthor ("Hermit")
Lily Newmark ("Nibs")
Jonathan Ajayi ("Smee")
Adarsh Gourav ("Slightly")
Dana Gonzalez (Director of Episodes 2, 3, 7, and 8; DP; EP)
Steve Painter (Lead Prosthetics Supervisor)
Wētā Workshop's Joe Dunckley and Vaughan Flanagan
Cameron Brown (Creature Suit Performer)
Andy Nicholson (Production Designer)
Erana James ("Curly")
Noah Hawley (Creator; Director of 1 and 5; Writer, EP)
A handful of the actors came back at multiple points throughout the season, so you will get to hear from them at various points as well!
We are hugely grateful to FX for helping facilitate all of these. Alien: Earth is now a piece of Alien history; having this sort of access in real time as it released was an unprecedented treat for us, and we're so happy we've been able to take all of YOU along on this journey with us!
